Tom Miller: against hunting with dogs

Several prospective constituents have contacted me over the past few days after BBC reports about hunting with dogs.

Not a single one has supported this practise.

Nor do I.

I am absolutely opposed to ‘cruel sports’ such as hunting with dogs, hare coursing, bear baiting, dog fights and chicken fighting. I accept that population control may in certain instances be necessary, but believe that there are much more humane ways to manage our environment than ripping animals to pieces with packs of dogs.

I also wish to see Labour’s ban better policed.
